The front shocks ended up testing out fine...I did use the liquid wire coating and that seemed to hold really well. However, i still had problems with my shocks, like busted top hat, and just old and worn dampers. I am just now in the process of installing BC Racing Coilovers (linear damping) with Swift springs. $1700. Im not trying to slam the car, i just want control over ride height and damping and i want an easy install, and i want to be able to control rear damping without taking the back seats apart. i got the fronts installed with the default ride height from BC and default damping of 15 (out of 30). The car was transformed...no more clunking, firm but compliant damping, less roll in the corners, way better at absorbing some of the road bumps around me, etc. The car is too low and i will be raising it to max ride height (about 1" drop at the front at max), and the car is on a lift now in the garage with rear seats apart and ready to have rears installed. I will let you know how that goes.
Basically i just gave up on EDC....and after testing out the front alone i should have made this chnage ages ago.
