Elektrik: MK4 Installation

Hello All,

At last !!! I have installed the 16:9+mk4+video module in my E38 and it works except for two problems

1. There is no Navi speech or announcements heard even though the radio cuts off for this purpose.Just blank..

2. The servotronic has becomes very hard but works okay if the Navi is disconnected.

Anyone have any suggestions??

The Mk4 only works with the high version DVD.
Please feel free to reply in German.

Lass mich raten, Du hast von MK1 auf MK4 hochgerüstet?

Das liegt am falschen Kabelbaum - d.h. Du hast Dir wohl den (MK3/MK4) Adapter geholt, um Deinen alten Kabelbaum weiterverwenden zu können. An dem fehlen jedoch zwei Kabel - so werden z. B. die Navistimme nicht durchgeschleift.

Entweder Du ziehst die zwei Leitungen selbst nach - oder Du holst Dir einfach das Adapterkabel, jedoch für MK2 (nicht für MK3 oder MK4). Dann funktioniert die Navistimme auch mit Deinem MK4 wieder.

Was hast Du eigentlich für Deinen MK4 bezahlt?

was du da mit meinst ist Blöde.

Du hast 100 mal die gleiche Fragen, letzendlich höhr ich nichts mehr nur wen es nicht mehr funktioniert dan bin ich gut.

Ahm Antuf, htf did you manage to get the Servotronic to be affected by the Navi? This sounds like the start of a great story.

Thanks for the info. Do you have the artkl. number for this kabel?

The problem with the Servo is real. The car is going to the garage on Tuesday. Will let you know what happens. Maybe it's the wrong cable that I have.

Appy, you have to understand that I'm new to all this and try to get the best info that I can. That's why so many questions. I think that's the case with all newbies and we are happy to have experienced people like you who we can ask. I would have bought everything from you but the distance was the problem. I did not ask the same questions. I'm not stupid.Read your mails.

I paid Eur. 600.00 for the MK4. I might be getting a second one tomorrow for the same price.

Hello Dominik,

Hey, Thanks but I already did. BMW admitted giving me the wrong cable.
They also reckon that the servo problems could be because of this as the Navi calculates the speed and handles the computing of the servo.
Lets wait and see.

Hi,

The whole problem of the Servotronic and no Navi speech was because of the wrong cable. Installed the new cable Mk1 to MK2 and ploop,,everything was okay.
