Elektrik Bad pixels on centre module:(

First of all, hello from Denmark. And sorry, i do not speak German:(

I have a 1995 730i, and my centre radio/phone/computer module has totally wrecked pixels.

I am looking for a new(or functioning used one) module, but can not find any.

I have searched ebay.de without any success.

Anyone have one or know where i can get one, it would be much appreciated.

Please ask our Member M8-Enzo , also known as Guido from Werne near
Dortmund. He fixed most of the MID´s of the forum.

Hi there,

to build on the first answer - your original module can be fixed, and that is the better alternative vs. looking for a replacement part. Rationale is that almost all displays of that series show the missing pixel bug sooner or later, so with a new or used one you just postpone the issue for a while, without solving it. Same is true for the central display unit also, by the way.

According to the accumulated experience of the people in this forum, Guido's method of repairing the displays is highly recommended, as it provides a long lasting solution against pixel failure. Send a U2U message to M8-Enzo and he'll explain how to remove the unit from your car; send it to him via mail and he can fix that one pretty fast. Alternatively, make an appointment with him and take a trip southbound to the Dortmund area; you'll get your pixels fixed within hours.
